Answered Prayer

Last Wednesday I was a bit concerned all day with how much Zachary was sleeping. Although he would arouse easily, I had trouble keeping him awake for any length of time. He was slightly congested, but I couldn't put my finger on any other specific concerns. As I was putting him to bed that night I mentioned to Craig that I just felt like things weren't right. To make myself feel better, I decided to take his temperature, although Craig and I both felt like he wasn't warm. When we saw the temperature of 101.4, we knew that it was going to be a long night ahead. The doctor on-call said we needed to go to the ER right away. How thankful we were for quick attention in the ER; they take it very seriously when a newborn comes in with a fever. It only took a couple hours for Zachary to be diagnosed with Influenza A, which we then found out on Thursday afternoon to specifically be the H1N1 virus. We spent the next 2 1/2 days in the hospital, while Zachary received medication and was monitored for any complications. We are praising God today that Zachary is home and doing much better. We have been reminded of God's goodness in our lives - knowing that even if the outcome had been different, our God would still be good. Today we are thankful for little Zachary. . . . and praying that God would continue to strengthen his little body.

What a sweet little boy in that hospital bed! Praise the Lord that he is on the mend! Lots of prayers have been going up from this family. We love you SIX! (P.S. You should transfer your blog to 6perrys.blogspot.com now that Zach has increased your family size...or you could plan ahead and get 7perrys.blogspot.com...TEEHEE, totally teasing.)
